Been here before, and enjoyed it even more this time. Fun city! And, voted most dog-friendly city by Dog Fancy Magazine. It’s busy, but lots of dog stuff going on and many dog friendly establishments. Sorry, had to get the fido plug in 🙂
So much to see and do in Charleston. Wish we had more time.
We did not make reservations early enough to get into the marina we wanted, and we had to delay a day in order to get a slip where we ended up. We were at the Charleston Maritime Center (pictured below), which turned out to be a very convenient spot for easily walking into downtown.
Lots of history! Charleston’s historical background includes civil war as well as some lurid seafaring debauchery … From it’s namesake (the hedonistic King Charles II), the beginnings of the Civil War through the days of Sherman’s March across the Carolina’s, to Blackbeard and the red light district … Charleston has a colorful past.
And, of course the beautiful antebellum and other homes.
Yes, we did the touristy horse and buggy carriage ride tour (Caleb too)!
It is Halloween … so some spooky decorations.
Excellent farmers market on Saturday where we discovered we were shopping elbow to elbow with Bill Murray.
So much more to see in Charleston, but she is in our rear view now. Can’t wait to come back!
We’ve been in Beaufort, SC for last few days. We had planned on heading out today, but with some weather coming in, we’ve decided to hang out here on a mooring ball, and then head down through Georgia after the bad weather.

I love Charleston, too. So much to do and tons of great restaurants. I loved the Market.
