Other than being stuck here longer than we planned due to the weather, we enjoyed “Beautiful” Beaufort (pronounced Bew-fert, as in beautiful). Howard still can’t say it right, even with the “beautiful” reminder. We also ran into some fellow Stingray Harbor friends, Susie, Brian and Hannah, on S/V Stella. We have also been connecting with another Stingray couple, Joy and Ivan on s/v Wisp in the Wind.
The passage from Charleston to Beaufort was the most beautiful natural scenery so far. It is very different cruising along the marshlands of the low country. At low tide, you might only see a boats mast across the marsh, but at high tide, they look like they are sitting on top of the marsh. Dolphins swim with us every day. I gave up trying to get a picture though after I came close to losing my phone/camera overboard.
We think we could live here :-). Very Dog friendly. One of the restaurants even has a special menu for dogs (and they deliver).
Now that he’s done eating and shopping, he wants to know what’s next.
Love all the Spanish moss.
Some very old trees that take precedence over the roadway.
Of course, some beautiful historical homes.
Caleb waiting for Howard to come out of Low Country Produce, an excellent produce market, chop house beef, wines, gumbos, soups, cheeses, etc. They also serve breakfast, lunch and “afternoon” meals.
Yo-Go’s ice cream … Yum!
A sweet surprise …. Got to see Count Basie Orchestra!
Tropical, love these blooms.
