Arriving back in Florida just before New Years, we took a few days to reprovision and get the boat ready to get underway again. We celebrated New Years in Palm Coast with some great fireworks.
From Palm Coast to Ft. Lauderdale it’s a pretty uneventful stretch (or either we were just still not altogether back with it just yet :-).
We did the first stop in Daytona Beach. Some of the power boats in the marina there still had there Christmas lights up, so we put ours back up 🙂
Then, said adios to the holidays and trekked on down to Vero Beach.
Vero Beach mooring field is nice. They are super busy though and require double and even triple boat rafts per mooring ball.
We had friends from Deltaville already on a mooring, so rafted with them. Caleb stared at us during cocktails on their boat.
Saw my first citrus tree! (And what a Charlie Brown lemon tree it was!)
Out of Vero we had one overnight on anchor in Hobe Sound. Too tired at the moment to give any details other than it was a nice spot to drop the hook.
From there we headed south to Ft. Lauderdale. Nothing exciting there but bridges and more bridges ….
Big boats
With lots of foreign flags
Canal after canal, with big canal front homes
Even some tacky Christmas decorations
We had to squeeze into this marina for the night on the way down. That’s Dreamer’s mast down on the left.
There were so many darn bridges. We did 14 or 15 our first day. Even stressed Caleb out!
